Nothing exciting to post, just doing it because I can. I head to London on the 2:45pm train (leaving in about 3 and a half hours, one of which I will dedicate to the 20 minute walk to the train station) and I figured I'd check e-mail and post a nothing here.
Had a lovley conversation at breakfast with fellow travelers - four Canadians and a pair of Californians. Afterwards, I had a nice conversation with S., one of the folks who run the B&B.
I'm looking forward to London - not my arrival as, from the tube station, I've got a half hour climb up a rather steep hill to the house of my friends. This evening will be spent visiting. I bought the 12 year old girl a Philip Pullman book and the boy James and the Giant Peach. I love that book and hope he will, too. For C. and P. - the parents - I've got a box of Belgian chocolates from Bruges. Let's hope they're still good... they might be a little squished, but shouldn't be destroyed.
I'm feeling a bit trepidatious about this visit as I've not seen them in aboug 9 years, but C. seems so friendly on the phone and it's only two evenings and breakfast Saturday, so I won't be there long enough to get on their nerves. I can hang around Friday or dash off and do touristy things - I've been given a mission by my sister that I hope to fulfill, but that shouldn't take but a few hours at most.
So, I'm off to have a cup of coffee and read. Lovely way to spend a morning, no?
