I'm sitting at the computer with a towel wrapped around my head. It is cold and I need to dry my hair. I was just bitchslapped with the realization that, yes, in not much more than 48 hours, I am going to Texas. I am starting a new job. New office environment, dress code, hours, I have to learn a new way throuogh office politics. I go from a top performer to bottom rung, can't even work the computer system lackey.
Still, I am looking forward to having a pool within walking distance (i.e. downstairs). It's the little things, you know?
I will have to fight myself to not pack too much. Lined up by the suitcse are four pair of work shoes, a pair of Birks, and a pair of hiking sneakers. Shoes are heavy.
I spent the afternoon in Athens with JJ and their new dog. Pete. He's cute and sweet, but he's a puppy. You may not know it, but I don't really care for infant animals of any species. I did enjoy him today, but I know I will enjoy him much more in six months when I can call him a dog.
There is a billboard. On the way to Athens, JESUS. On the way home, COMING SOON. Tennessee orange on white. This proclamation is located just over a car dealership and very near the County Sherriff's complex. I wonder who provided that thoughtful public service message. JESUS. COMING SOON.
Who knew?
