Monday

I think I'm adjusting to this schedule. I was wide awake when I left work - I'd not intended to be there as long as I was, so I left at 2:15.

The hotel had landscaping done. I wish they hadn't used a manure-based bark ground cover. It smells like a dairy is nearby. Good thing the wind is blowing again.

Yesterday I went to the most wonderful grocery store. Ever. No, really. Take all the wonderful fun goodness of a Whole Foods - the bakery, the cheese, the prepared foods, organic cosmetics, the flowers, the produce, oh, the produce - and add to that normal things that you want to buy - Coke, SaraLee frozen poundcake. It was too much fun. I even decided it was better than seeing the start of the race. Yes. That fantastic.

I did spend too much money, but I don't regret a penny of it. Not one little penny. When I'm unemployed and unable to afford a bean burrito at Taco Bell, I'll think back lovingly on my fun time at this most fantastic grocery store. Ever. Central Market. If you're even close to one, go there. I went to the one in Plano. They had, of course I didn't think to take my camera on a trip to a grocery store, the adorable fruit and veggei sculptures along the front sidewalk to the store. Tomato, artichoke, orange, eggplant. The weather was perfect so we parked far, far away and walked slowly to the store.

Among the lovely things I acquired - four pink gerbera daisies, Scharffenberger chocolate, fresh vegetable enchiladas, perfect strawberries and manchego cheese, a cranberry scone crusted with oversized sugar crystals, a gift for my seester and binlaw, a gift for a friend who's gonna pop one out soon, Burt's Bees parseley blemish stick (the only thing that keeps them from growing to mountainous proportions - did you grow a second nose or is that a zit?), and two perfect pears.

Today I sat outisde and had my brunch before work. Sun, breeze, lovely. I hope to do so again tomorrow.
