100 is not a good temperature.

My experience at the Nasher Sculpture Museum was crazy busy, crazy hot. It was Dallas' City Arts weekend and the museum was free. I paid $6 to park, but my entrance was free. Good thing, too, for it was ten degrees above hell and it was all I could do to sit on the patio of the musuem cafe, drink my iced coffee and watch my fellow man melting. I did walk around the sculpture garden, once, but it was difficult to dodge the sun. I walked from shaded area to shaded area and saw what I could from those spots.

When I walked down the steps from the museum into the garden, the path was covered in a puddles of water. 15 minutes later, that water had vanished. 100 is a great test score in high school. 100 is a lovely number of pairs of shoes. 100 is not a humane temperature. What kind of place has outdoor festivals in summer when the temps get to above 90?

What am I saying? Remember the murdered Piedmont Arts Festival? In the park, it wasn't so bad for the shade of the huge and plentiful trees, but remember that last year? When they moved the bleeding body to Centennial Park, I don't even remember what they called it... Yeah, okay. Lets set up the tents during the hottest month of the year in a spot without a tree over 10 feet tall? Oh, yea! Where will we put all the paramedic tents?

I leave off, Dallas. But it's still too frickin' hot.

I spent most of today indoors. Race day and all. I did join some fellow national hires at OHOP for breakfast. Yum. After the race, I joined my friend B for mango frozen drinks, chips and dip. Again, yum. Who needs dinner when there's mango, rum, and queso dip?

Yum, frozen mango drink. Teach me how to make those when you come home next. Your blogs are such fun to read. I envision people melting in Texas -- like the wicked witch. Glad you enjoyed your trip home. And your hair is no excuse not to swim - have you ever heard of a swimming cap. Quite useful

When you start getting nostalgic for Georgia summer weather, that's when you know it truly is hot as hell. ;)

Take care
