After brunch, S. left me at the DMA. The Turner exhibit is on through May 18 and if you can, go. It is fantastic. A small part of the back of my mind is telling me I might need to go to DFW again in mid-May. After walking the entire exhibition, I returned to a central room and spent almost 20 minutes sitting on a bench with the Decline of Carthage behind me and at angles I took in simultaneously a sweeping English late morning landscape (cannot remember the name), Ulysses deriding Polyphemus - Homer's Odyssey and three sunrises. If I were prone to weeping at beauty, this might have done it.
The race Sunday was great fun. I went with my friend T. and her boys (they're in their early 20s and quite entertaining). The weather was perfect. Windy and cool in the morning and up to the 80's by mid-afternoon. Perfect. Though the sun was bright and a bit warm, I never did take my jacket off... the choice was be a bit too warm, but not hot or spend the race worried about burning like the white girl I am. Really, no choice at all.
See, this is me at the end of the race... not lobster colored (unlike most of the folks around me).

I cannot wait to go to my next race!
And because I love it so, here's a video of a lap (oh yes, there's noise - don't worry, I picked a short one for you, but it still takes a bit to load up)...
