Yeah, so why don't I write more often?

Okay. I was reading a blog in my extended sphere and I thought: shoot, if folks are reading this, then surely they won't mind me at my less-than-most interesting. Kind of put things in perspective. All you have to do is not read what I have to say. No harm, no foul.

I went to the Braves home opener with the binlaw Monday night. He almost finked out on me - hard day, tired, likely felt guilty about going out and leaving my sister and the baby at home. But his better judgment won out without my having to say anything particular and he did go. We had a good time. Parking wasn't a problem as we were there early and it was quite an experience just walking into the stadium. Entering through the main gates was like entering a world neither the binlaw nor I live in. Two dudes walking in behind us were letting out hoots and hollers just because they were glad to be there. The place was swarming with people and vibrating with choreographed noise. The atmosphere was infectious, it made me glad that the baseball season has started.

After 13 years of not paying attention and nursing my bitterness, it was refreshing to watch a game. I've been to two games in the last 10 years - once as part of a company event with my Dad and once for my own employer. Since 1994, this was the first game I went to for the game itself. The binlaw's company is always enjoyable, but that wouldn't have been enough.

Besides the cold, I did not enjoy the concessions... Our "cheese" nachos, beer, and bottle of water each cost $36.50. More than tickets and parking combined. Next time we bring our food.
