Okay, okay. It's been less than a month.
I have been exploring the world of Apple. The fruit and the computer.
I was in Publix the other day and bought an Ambrosia apple. It was wonderful... crisp, prettily colored, not too sweet. I was inspired. I have since tried a Cripps Pink, Honey Crisp, and Braeburn. Braeburn and Honey Crisp are too sweet. I am looking for something with crispness of a Granny Smith, but not as much in the way of tart.
For the computer, my binlaw has forwarded to me a rescue PowerBook from his office. It died, the boss wanted a new one. A new hard drive, an updated operating system and I'm in business. Luckily for me because in my research, only one laptop put a twinkle in my eye... yep. The Mac. So, I'm going to save about $850. Yay binlaw!
Though, I must admit to being a reluctant Mac user. The rescue PowerBook still won't let me use the lovely new iPod my mom gave me for Christmas... USB 2.0 issues. I love that Apple, the company responsible for bringing firewire into the world, has now decided that it needs to use USB 2.0 ports. A**holes. There. I've gotten that off my chest. Now I just have to figure out a way to trade in the iPod for something I can actually use. No, I don't want an iPhone... though, my phone has started warming up for the dance of death. I grow worried.
So, with the "new" computer, uploading pictures to the web is much faster. I might post a few more now on Flickr. Now that, you know, it takes less than 20 minutes to upload 6 pictures. We'll see. First I have to take some. Last weekend in Dallas, didn't take a single shot.
