Yesterday was another gorgeous day. The drive in to work was pretty. The moon was full and low on the horizon. When I got to Buckhead, the sky was just beginning to lighten and there were wispy clouds crossing the moon, which was between the buildings. At that time of day, looking away from the nascent sunrise, the buildings have this lovely shiny blue quality. It was beautiful and you know I would never be accused of having a soft spot for Buckhead.
I had a lovely lunch with the sister and niece and then went to have my hair cut. I love it. It's a bit more trendy than I would have asked for, but I like it.
Here it is... in the two photos I took in the bathroom of the salon the choice is surprised or angry. This one was better for the hair.
I also had J. take a before picture and, while it is a good picture of me in that it accurately portrays my face, I don't like it. I look like my age. Ick. I am fine with my age, it is a good age, but I hate that I am now looking like a 34-year-old woman. That, more than anything, makes me feel unwell about my birthday this year.
Here is a shot of the side/back. Great shape.
Wednesday driving home I thought, traffic was oddly light. Good thing, too, because my car died. Driving along, thinking about what to have for dinner and all of a sudden it feels as if I've taken my foot off the gas. I hadn't. Luckily a police car pulled up behind me not five minutes later and blocked what little traffic was there so I could roll back down the hill into the Mrs. Winner's parking lot to wait for the tow truck. Yay for me. But I have to say, the cop was lovely and didn't treat me like a stupid girl. Though, I did remark that the first question every one asks - my dad, the cop, the AAA operator, the tow truck guy - do you have fuel? Yes. I do. I guess it's the car equivalent of "is the computer plugged in?".
My love of Rome the t.v. series has spawned a general interest in Rome. I came across a webcomic by way of eternallycool.net - SPQR Blues (click on it and it will take you to the first strip), drawn by Klio. Love it. Not funny in a comics sort of way, but a compelling saga set in a city just outside of Pompeii in the years before Vesuvius blew. History geeks of the world unite!
