Monday

Sunday.

I went to another Joann store - last night I came home and checked my pattern, 5 skeins short. So, another trip to the craft store. I think I'm done now.

I just had a little impromptu dance party all by myself. It's the only way to dance my ass off to the music I choose and still be in bed at a reasonable hour. It would be more fun with others, but my colleagues don't need to know that much about me.

NASCAR. I was surprised by the frisson I felt when the engines kicked on. Next season I will be able both time wise and financially to take my uncle to a race or two. This year, hopefully, I'll be working six or seven days a week until the end of race season. I'm going to watch a few more before I set my loyalty on a driver, but I felt that Matt Kenseth handled himself well in his loss today and I liked that.

It was hot today. Returning from Joann, I took a strange exit from the freeway to wander the area a little. Car dealer, gas stations, strip malls, oh my. I did spot a Schlotsky's and stopped to get a sandwich. I parked the car and was facing an Albertson's. The grocery store we shopped at in Idaho. I had to call my parents. This are is too wierd for me - it feels like a hybrid of Idaho and central California. The people, the stores, the trucks. The scrubby little trees are different, spikier, but the dryness tinged with green is familiar enough.

I'll send your address to Judy so she can let Wayne read your blog. Who would have ever thought you would be a NASCAR junkie.

I think it is so cool that you like Nascar. UW is pleased; we are not crazies but enjoy it. Some people have nothing else in their lives; we have plenty UW even missed the race yesterday.
Great talking to you. aj
