Yes. "They" gave us the three day weekend.
Today was the best of the three. I have not left the room. I've read, cooked, eaten, watched t.v., and stared out the windows at the rain. All day it has rained. From when I awoke to now it has been overcast and slightly dreary. It has put me in a good mood. Badly needed was a day like this - both the lazy and the rainy. I repeat my refrain of too much sunshine in this place.
It's 10pm and only a vague sadness is settling. Nothing like the dread of the work-a-day week that I was expecting. I must confess that my day of leisure has left me pining for joblessness. Where is the wealthy, attractive and kind man that wants a well-read housewife? Come on down!
Yesterday I went to lunch and a movie with a frolleague, M. We saw the Illusionist. Seeing this movie has kindled a desire to revisit Vienna. It won't be my next trip for I'll be traveling in the Spring and I'd rather go to Vienna in early Autumn. The yellow leaves on the gray streets, the crispness of the air, and Sturm. Sturm is the early wine (wine that is not fully furmented). The sugar content is high and makes what little (1-4%) alcohol is in the wine go straight for your head. Sturm means storm - I was told it is called that because it makes a storm in your head if you drink too much.
Going back to Vienna might not be such a good idea. Mostly there are good memories - 11 years has been long enough to blot out anything unworthy of remembrance. I might be a bit afraid of it not living up to my memories. Then again, I am a more comfortable solitary traveller than I was at 21, so it might prove to be a richer experience.
I'm going to go read. Darcy's sister has just invited Elizabeth and her aunt and uncle to dine with them.

Sounds like you had a wonderful 'days off.'; and a visit from a friend the weekend before. wow! UW and I had to work of course ; but it has slowed downed considerably. J & J came for dinner Saturday along with your Mom and Dad.
J & J camped out and a fun time was had by all except that Petey kept them awake half the night. Miss you. aj
