Monday

January something...

I really have no idea what day of the month it is. I do know it's Sunday.

If anyone's still out there, if you all hadn't given me up for dead...

Christmas was lovely. We were all well behaved. The gift giving and receiving was a success.

I returned to Texas the 27th, all moved into the house where I'm staying. It's a nice single level house, built in the late 70s. I'm in a room at the front of the houswe, the room with the best natural light because of three floor to ceiling windows. Off-white carpet throughout the house (yes, every room but the bathrooms and kitchen). The man I'm renting from is proving to be a good roomate. He does play his music loud, but I like his music and don't mind this so much.

The commute is 25-30 minutes morning and afternoon, everything I could want is within a 5 minute drive - including a Sonic, four Starbucks, Target, Kroger, the bank, a yoga studio, two movie theaters and a Barnes & Noble. I'm in a Starbucks now - no internet at the house. He's looking into it, but I think I'll be coming to Starbucks once or three times a week. It's a bit pricey, but so far I'm enjoying myself.

There's also no cable in the house. At first the lack of cable didn't bother me. I am, after all, a television addict and if there's no t.v. to watch I get many other things done. The other day it dawned on me... no t.v., no NASCAR. I have until February 18 to find a place to watch the race each week. Such a quandry, no?

So. Things are settling. I'm still ambivalent about being in Texas; I'm in a new sort of limbo. In the past, I waited for circumstances to play out, but this time it's on me. No external resolution of my questions, I will have to actively make the decision to return to Atlanta.

This afternoon was beautiful, in spite of the wind. I went for a walk about 5pm and it was chilled, but comfortable. I came in to eat and left the house again at 6:05pm and was blasted with cold. Well, blasted with Texas cold, but cold enough.

I'm tired and wanting to go curl up in bed to read, so I'm going to close.

Finally! A fresh entry to your blog.
Sounds like you might have to find a Sports Bar to watch your NASCAR. You are becoming a entirely different person.

Watching NASCAR in a sports bar sounds like my personal nightmare. Unless they have good beer specials.

Strangely enough, I don't think it's much colder here in Moscow than it is in texas. Weird.
