Cars. Lots of fast cars.

I was up at 7:30 to watch the Belgian Grand Prix. It is the first Formula 1 race for which I've been able to drag myself out of bed on time. A contrast to the NASCAR race I watched this afternoon, I enjoy watching the F1 cars and the way they, the race and it's participants are handled.

I have purchased tickets to my first race! The October race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. I am taking my Uncle W. A few minutes after I purchased the tickets I thought: crap, I just spent too much money. The moment I saw then envelope in the mail, I didn't care. Hee hee. Just me, Uncle W and 124,000 other folks. Too cool.

I met a friend for a manicure this past Friday. I haven't painted my fingernails in years, but decided to go with a color and be all girly. I chose St. Petersburgundy by OPI. It reminds me of what I think Jungle Red looks like, from The Women. In reality, it is more of a blood red, than a primary red, but Jungle Red is my happy little thought. Having my nails painted, I am more aware of my fingers. This is good and bad - good are the pretty nails, bad are the too-short fingers and the hands that look my age. I have visions of myself wearing gloves year 'round by age 50.
