Christmas? Already?

My mom and I went to the mall this Saturday thinking, eh, well, how bad could it be? No special holiday, no particular reason for crushes of people. We were right, to some degree, as the stores were relatively unpopulated. However, I am still bruised from the assault by Macy's Christmas decorations. More than three months until Christmas and I was forced to navigate through aisles crowded with tables of last-minute gifts and guard my eyes from the horrific red and green sparkly sh*t on the walls.

I'm staring to think the gift-giving of Christmas should be abandoned in favor of celebrating only the family (or religious, if you'd prefer) aspect of the holiday. Why not have the gift giving sometime in say, June? It's as random as Christmas decorations in September.

A more pleasant note, the niece. Swiped the photo from my sister for it must be shared even if a bit fuzzy. I confess that I grow to believe that my niece may be the cutest little human on the planet.
