Originally, T. and her husband were going to go to New Orleans with me. As plans fizzled, I decided to go on my own. I pulled into the parking garage at Canal and Decatur around 9am. It was nice to see the French Quarter sans the bulk of tourists. Next time, I think I'll get there around 7:30 - morning light for pictures and no tourists. So, I walked along Decatur to somewhere, just wandering. I picked up coffee and a cranberry muffin at a
Community Coffee on Royal Street. Walked to Jackson Square and found myself a shaded bench. Drinking my coffee, watching the horse and carriage folks line up along the Decatur Street front of the Square, watching the early tourists.
Here's one of three photos I took in NOLA. I know, I know, I just wasn't feeling it.

From NOLA, I went west to see
Oak Alley Plantation. It was pretty and all, but my favorite part about the visit was sitting at a picnic table under huge live oaks, reading in the breeze.
