While I was there, I went to the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art (it being one of my favorite places) with S., a new friend from Atlanta who lives in Dallas. S. is an artist and a teacher and we wandered the exhibits with him adding information and insight here and there. I am so used to the solitary museum-going experience that it was most enjoyable to have his comments to give back-story to the pieces.
One of the permanent pieces:

The last couple of days of my visit I spent in Willow Park visiting my friend K. and her parents. Willow Park is about 15 minutes west of Fort Worth in a barely suburban landscape. This picture was taken from their back yard; this is why I love the Dallas-Fort Worth area... miles of not quite flat land.

On the way back to Atlanta, I stopped in Gulfport for a few days. I picked the girls up from school one day and we went to the beach. T. doesn't like the beach and wouldn't come with us. We spent about an hour and half in the white sunshine and sand laden wind. Restorative. But I can see how some don't enjoy it.
