At work, we are currently in the midst of a rennovation - nifty new cubes, moving the executive suite, etc. I am in the building wholly leased by the company and they are building out 2/3 of my floor to house the executives. In a tasty bit of conversation, I learned today that the original plan had been to secure the executive side of the floor. Yes. Secure, as in my badge would give me access into my side of the floor, but not "theirs". To be fair, this idea was scrapped late last year when the new Director came on board; nonetheless, I am horrified by the idea that it was even a possiblity. To lock the doors against the lower orders as if we'd rampage to the executive suites and steal the silver...
Add to this the fact that, recently, two of our three coffee pots were taken away. Now, for our section of the floor (about 40 folks), we have one pot. One. You can have decaf OR regular, neither of which is worth drinking.
Resume, oh resume, wherefore art thou not current?
