After shopping with J. and G. I went home and rested (recovered from mixing with the masses). There. You have Sunday.
Here’s a random photo, it is of course a vertical shot on its side:
A detail of A.’s wedding bouquet. She gave M. guidance and he chose how the bouquet would look. 'Boy has an eye for flowers.
The neighbor’s cat is sitting on the sidewalk staring at me. It wants in (it is chilly and intermittently raining); poor, sweet Frodo.
This Sunday, today, I have dusted, vacuumed, tidied. Next I shall change the sheets and set up my guest mattress. A. and M. are planning on arriving around dinner time, but may be held up by traffic. I’m having a late lunch and have some food if they want to eat here. I’m hoping they will want take-away from the roti place down the street. I've a craving for curried potatoes and this fantastic spiced tempeh they have.
Yesterday I met S. (the New Zealander) at the bookstore Scheltema (in the English language section). After I bought a book (are you surprised?) we walked a short way to have coffee at Metz & Co. She didn’t know about the café on the 6th floor. I felt so cool introducing something to someone who lives here. Thank you A. for taking me there! We had coffee and cake (I, some chocolate mousse thing and she, lemon meringue tart for I could not call it truly pie) and good conversation for over two hours. She is wonderful. We talked much of her travels – I was fascinated. When younger, S. was painfully shy and decided to do something about it. She went to Asia for a six month journey. I admire how she leads her life.
I went home and read my new book. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. I initially wanted to buy this book after hearing an interview with the author, however, I have an aversion to hardbound books. The paperback was prominently displayed on a table, just calling my name! So, I now have reading for the next two weeks. I am also borrowing and taking with me a Thomas Hardy novel. I shall read him when in Wessex. It will be nice to see, live, the scenery portrayed the book.
After speaking with my sister last night, I think it’s been quite boring for y’all recently. J. said she laughed because I was writing about what I was eating. She may have chastised, but she’s still reading. Mmm hmmm. Still reading. At any rate, Tuesday is my intended setting off day – off to Bruges. I'm certain I will have frequent access to internet, but maybe not daily and free as I do now. Also, what with seeing new things, maybe I'll write about more than what I'm eating. Maybe not. Maybe I'll turn this in to a food blog, a boring one at that. The next three weeks will be filled with self-catering hostels/hotels and lots of simple (read cheap) fare.
I think I should leave the house now, if only for a little walk to take the recycling to the containers.

I like to hear what you are eating, not because of what you are eating but where you are eating. I look forward to reading your blog every day and so do my friends. Do you want me to print all these out for your scrap book?
